Ms. Erin Kelly
A recent and whole-hearted convert to girls’ education, Erin began as SEM parent (Grace ’13 and Clare ’17), became a SEM trustee, and after years of extolling the virtues of SEM, she made it official and has been the director of communications since December, 2013.
In the fall of 2016 she revived SEM's journalism class and school paper - once called Semaphore, now called The SEM Weekly.
Most recently she was director of development & communications at the International Institute of Buffalo where she created the “Map for Adventurous Eaters,” a guide to Buffalo’s ethnic food.
A Canadian who grew-up in New York City, she attended the United Nations International School. She attended Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, where she majored in political science and English.
She has been a New York Times copygirl and a contributing writer. As a freelance writer she has contributed to magazines and radio, the James Beard Award winning cookbook “Saveur Cooks Authentic American,” and since moving to Buffalo in 2010, The Buffalo News Magazine.
She has also been communications manager for the Food Bank For New York City and press officer for Columbia Law School.
