How to Apply

Applying to SEM is a selective process. We are looking for girls who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, academic achievement, and involvement in their communities and extracurricular activities.

We know that applying to a new school can be intimidating and overwhelming. Whether you’re applying to be a day student, domestic boarding student, or international boarding student, SEM’s admissions team is here to make the process as straightforward as possible. Students are admitted in grades 9 through 12 with preference given to 9th and 10th grade applications. Each applicant is carefully evaluated by the Admission Committee to determine her ability to succeed at SEM.

Domestic Boarding Students:

*If you would prefer, SEM also accepts the SSAT and the TABS applications in lieu of our application. SSAT and TABS applications include essay, transcripts, and recommendation forms.


International Boarding Students:

*If you would prefer, SEM also accepts the SSAT and the TABS applications in lieu of our application. SSAT and TABS applications include essay, transcripts, and recommendation forms.
