Colby Art Program

The Colby Art Program at the Buffalo Seminary was established in October 1983, with a generous gift from Patricia Oishei Colby, '32 in honor of Robert W. Colby. Founded to foster art education and to develop art appreciation, the program annually selects female artists connected with the Western New York community to serve as Colby artists. These artists engage students and the school community in the artistic process through exposure to and discussion about their works and careers. At the close of the artist's show at the school, one of the artist's works is purchased through the Colby Fund and becomes a permanent addition to the Seminary's Colby Collection.

Visiting Artist Program

Thanks to funding by the generous gifts of "angels" over the last six years, we have instituted an artist-in-residence and guest artist program in the performing arts.
