The Buffalo Seminary soccer team took the field a year after an experiment in the North Division against much tougher opponents and had no regular season wins, with the hopes that being back in the South Division would bring better results. The result of the first game back in the South Division vs the Park School had Buffalo Seminary with 6 and the Park School 0. The Sem ladies got the early lead on a strike from Sophomore F Sarah Obletz, who then tallied another three scores to finish off the day with 4 goals. Sarah's forward counterpart and one of the team captains, Junior F Jaci Smith added one more goal to end the first half 5 - 0. The second half had a different pace to the game as the Sem ladies backed off the gas pedal a little and Jaci was able to add her second, but not until after many attempts on the goal. With her first shutout of her career at Buffalo Seminary, Sophomore G Natalie Voos backstopped the victory. With plenty of experience under our belts, Buf Sem looks forward to Wednesday for our first home game of the season vs. St. Mary's of Lancaster.
This year's captains are Senior D Juliette Brown and Junior F Jaci Smith. Sophomore G Natalie Voos, will serve as an assistant captain due to being an underclassman.
A Kudos is going out to Junior F Alida Tobaro, whom last year played in a very very support role. This year she spent an entire half at the forward position and had two shots on goal. I just keep saying how proud of Alida I am as she has come from not being able to play soccer last season to being a contributing team member this year.
