Contributions of financial support to Sem have always been vital to the continuing success of the school since its founding in 1851.

The generous support of Sem's alumnae, families, friends, staff and trustees is one of Sem's most important and valued traditions.

Annual Fund

Sem's Annual Fund is the cornerstone of Sem's fundraising efforts. As in most independent schools, the tuition at Sem does not cover the cost of the quality education provided to Sem students.

This year, 24% of Sem's cost to educate our girls comes from gifts to Sem's Annual Fund and other volunteered contributions.

Success of Sem's Annual Fund makes a Sem education possible and every Annual Fund gift is important to our success.

A strong Annual Fund provides essential support for Sem's faculty compensation, exceptional academic offerings and expanded opportunities in athletics, the arts and the global community.

A strong Annual Fund also provides scholarships and ensures Sem's ability to keep tuition competitive.

We encourage you to join our Leadership Club of donors who have increased their gifts by 10% or more over last year's gift.

Capital Giving

Capital gifts are used to support Sem’s mission and advance our strategic initiatives.

Capital gifts can be directed to support current programs at Sem, or they can help grow Sem’s endowment to ensure growth in funding of scholarships, faculty development, building projects and a range of educational programs at Sem.
