Magavern-Sutton Courtyard Ribbon Cutting

On October 5, we were delighted to officially open the newly constructed Magavern-Sutton Courtyard, which was made possible by a lead gift from Bill and Linda Magavern '73 to the Remarkable Opportunities Campaign.

The courtyard was designed by Bill's sister, Mary Magavern Worrell '60, and was completed by the first day of school, September 7. This beautiful new space unites our five faculty and student residence houses with the school building and provides a green oasis within our remarkable urban campus.

The courtyard is also named in honor of Gary Sutton, who has worked at SEM for over forty years and is an indispensable member of our tight-knit community. We know that the Magavern and Sutton legacies will live on in this beautiful new space, to be enjoyed by students, faculty, staff, and alumnae for years to come.
