Planned Giving

Planned Giving is one of the best ways to provide a legacy that will benefit future generations of SEM students, SEM faculty and the quality of the school’s programs and learning environments.

Planning ahead for a future gift allows you to achieve your charitable goals and can help provide a financially secure future for you, your loved ones and Buffalo Seminary.

Some of the reasons people make planned gifts to SEM include:

  • Creating Income
  • Lowering Capital Gains Taxes
  • Reducing Taxes on Transfers to Heirs

And of course, Planned Giving lets you establish your legacy, whether you decide to recognize your class, parents, spouse, family or yourself in making a bequest to SEM.

What is The Elm Legacy Society?

Among the types of gifts designated by members of the Elm Legacy Society are bequests, charitable gift annuities and beneficiary gifts of life insurance, retirement funds, property or tangible assets.
