SEM Students Win Awards in Technology
Three SEM computer science students were recently awarded National Center for Women & Information Technology for their pursuits in STEM. Andrea '23 is an affiliate winner along with Henrietta '26, and Laura '23 is an affiliate honorable mention.
The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors 9th - 12th grade women, genderqueer, or non-binary students for their computing-related achievements and interests, and encourages them to pursue their passions. With over 3,400 applicants, award recipients are selected based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education.
Our students have the resources to pursue their interest in STEM through our four-year computer science program. We provide students the opportunity to study different facets of computer science, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and game design.
