How to Apply

Return to the Admissions Portal to complete request forms for your child's school transcripts (6th, 7th, and quarter one 8th grade reports) and recommendations from an English and Math teacher.

Register for the SEM Entrance Exam. All applicants must take the Entrance Exam on Saturday, December 13 from 10AM to 12:30PM. The components of the Entrance Exam include a cognitive abilities test, a short essay, and reading comprehension and math supplements.

New this year! SEM is offering Entrance Exam Prep Courses in English and Math on December 8 and 9, from 4:30-6:00PM. Prep courses are free to applicants who submit a completed application by December 15. Register here.

After December 13, please contact the Admissions Office to schedule an entrance exam appointment.

Families who wish to apply for financial aid must complete a Clarity Application by January 1, 2026 in order to be considered in the first round of financial aid allocation.

Request school transcripts (6th, 7th, and quarter one 8th grade reports) and recommendations from an English and Math teacher through your chosen application portal. If necessary, you or your school may email these documents separately to admissions@buffaloseminary.org. 

Please also email the Admissions Office to set up a virtual interview so we can better get to know you and answer your questions about SEM. 

Submit official test scores from the ISEE or SSAT. International applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency through scores from the following: TOEFL, Duolingo, TOEFL JR. ITEP, IELTS, SSAT.
