SEM LAX 2020 Distant but Connected

2020 Basketball Champs!

Division Championship March 6, 2020! 

SEM won the 2020 Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association B Division Championship March 6, 2020! Individual team member honors: Lilly Johnsen '20 - 1st Team All-Catholic B Division & MVP of the championship game; Rosie Franjoine '20 - 1st Team All-Catholic B Division; Aleigh Celotto ' 20 - Honorable Mention B Division.


2020 Swim Champs!

SEM Swimming is the 2019 Monsignor Martin Association High School Athletic Association champion! 

Mick and Jess Swim Champs

Seniors Mick Tesluk and Jess Napier learn they've qualified for the NYSPHAA Swim Championships in 2019. Sophomores Lauren Levy and Ellie Tesluk also competed and teammate Gretchen Gwitt from Nichols.

Buffalo Seminary's athletic philosophy is an outgrowth of our school's mission.

A SEM athlete will grow as an individual while learning the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, competition, responsibility, and dedication. As a Red-Tailed Hawk she will have the chance to play, to impove, to be excellent. She will try hard and she will be challenged.

The athletic department provides each student with a sense of belonging, while encouraging every student to achieve her personal best as a team member or individually in the pursuit of health and fitness.

Buffalo Seminary is a member of the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association (MMHSAA) for the following varsity and junior varsity interscholastic sports:

Cross Country
Indoor Track & Field


SEM's varsity sailing team sails with the Mid-Atlantic District of the Inter-Scholastic Sailing Association (ISSA).

SEM's varsity & novice crew is a member of the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association (BSRA).

SEM's varsity fencing team competes in the Western New York Division of the U.S. Fencing Association.

SEM's varsity field hockey team is a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) interscholastic athletic programs.

SEM's varsity squash team is a member of US Squash and the Buffalo Squash Raquets Association (BSRA).

SEM's ski club travels weekly to Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY.


Five girls from Buffalo Seminary will play collegiate sports in 2019-20. They will do Crew (1 student, Div. 1), and play Lacrosse (1 student) and Squash (2 students).
