Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This FAQ was created for our in-person camp of Summer 2020.
It will be revisited for Summer 2021

What is Summer@SEM doing to ensure a clean and safe environment?

All Buffalo Seminary classrooms and common areas will see increased disinfecting throughout the day. There will be designated hand washing and sanitizing times and stations available to each camp section. All employees will be wearing a facemask at all times. Campers are asked to wear masks for arrival and when moving around the building or on trips outside the building; if in place doing an activity and safely distanced (6 feet), they may take them off. All staff and campers will have a temperature and wellness check before entering the building.

How is staff being prepared?

All Summer@SEM staff is being trained on the COVID-19 protocols and procedures that help reduce the spread of the virus laid out by the CDC. This includes social distancing guidelines, proper cleaning, hygiene routines, and understanding of the virus. In addition, all Summer@SEM staff will be tested for Covid-19 prior to the start of camp.

How will social distancing be enforced?

SEM will adhere to all social distance guidelines in accordance with the CDC. Each camp will consist of 10 or fewer campers with one or two staff members and they will remain with this group throughout the week.

What should I do if my child is sick?

If your child feels ill, please stay home. If during camp your child exhibits any symptoms, she will be removed from their group and camp staff will contact you to have your daughter picked up.

What are the pick up and drop off procedures?

To help limit exposure, daily pick up, and drop off will be curbside/outside only where a staff member will greet you and your child to do a temperature/wellness check and the camper will then move to their designated mini camp base. More information to come the week before camp!
