Theatre

The Theatre Department and Drama Club Our organizations mount two major productions each year: one in the fall and one in the spring. All students may audition for these shows.

The theatre production class assists with the building of sets, costumes, props, and concessions. Students are also a big part of marketing and ticket sales.

SEM's all-girl performances are directed by theatre teacher Susan Drozd, with the entire production run by the students. Buffalo Seminary is fortunate to be in a city with many theatres and professionals who  can be called upon to share their expertise.

Play rehearsals are usually from 3:30-6:00 p.m. during the school week. We also hold weekend rehearsals, especially during the final weeks leading up to opening night. We try to work around sports and clubs, but students must understand their own need to prioritize and follow through on commitments. We do our best to work with the athletic department to allow our students to have as many opportunities as they would like to try.

This student-made video is the final class project for Ms. Drozd's Theatre Production Class, Spring 2022.

Our Oldest Tradition is Forward Thinking!

SEM's theatre department credo "We love theatre and we play all the parts!" has always been so. This is the all-woman cast of Much Ado About Nothing in 1898.
